The International WaterCentre Joins the CEO Water Mandate
The CEO Water Mandate Secretariat welcomes the International WaterCentre (IWC) as its latest endorsing company! Via its endorsement of the CEO Water Mandate, IWC joins a diverse, global community of over 140 companies that have made a commitment to advancing water stewardship. President and CEO Mark Pascoe states, “at IWC we believe tomorrow’s solutions lie in effective leadership, capacity building, and integrated, ‘whole of water’ cycle approaches to water management.”
The IWC is based out of Brisbane, Australia and provides education, training, and applied research services to implement a “whole-of-water cycle approach”. Originally founded as a collaboration between four leading Australian universities, the IWC prides itself on research that is empirical, problem-based, and generates useful knowledge. In addition, the IWC utilizes the expertise of their team to apply an integrated water management (IWM) approach to their work. For the IWC, integrated water management (IWM) is a process which promotes the coordinated management of water and land to maximize water’s economic, social and ecological values. IWC’s expertise in IWM is focused in three areas: water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); sustainable urban communities; and healthy river basins.
