Rezidor Hotel Group Releases 2016 Sustainable Business Report as its Mandate COP Report
Through the release of its 2016 Responsible Business Report, the Rezidor Hotel Group has met its annual CEO Water Mandate Communication on Progress reporting requirement.
In the report, the Group discusses its goal of a 10% reduction in total water use by 2020. The Group is well on its way to meeting this goal via water savings initiatives such as: towel reuse programs, installation of low flow water fixtures, and offering a low water footprint breakfast. From 2007 to 2016, Rezidor’s efficiency efforts reduced water consumption (in liters per guest per night) by 29%. In addition, the Group helped develop the Hotel Water Measurement Initiative, the hospitality industry’s first water measurement tool.
The Rezidor Hotel Group has a portfolio of more than 480 hotels in operation or under development with over 105,000 rooms. The group employs more than 43,700 people across 80+ countries. Rezidor operates the core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
About the Mandate’s Communication on Progress Requirements
Transparency is one of the six core elements of the CEO Water Mandate. When endorsing the Mandate, companies pledge to report once a year on their progress against these elements through a Communication on Progress (COP). In doing so, they demonstrate continuous improvement in water stewardship, foster accountability, and share innovative practice with the water stewardship community.
