VERGE FB Live Speakers

Last week, the CEO Water Mandate and Gap Inc. participated in a Facebook Live conversation on “Tackling the Global Water Crisis: How Businesses Can Help” as part of the VERGE 18 Conference and Expo.

The conversationalists included:

  • Jason Morrison, Pacific Institute President and Head of the CEO Water Mandate
  • Heather Cooley, Pacific Institute Director of Research
  • Lisa Hook, Women + Water Program Manager, Gap Inc.
  • Cora Kammeyer, Pacific Institute Research Associate (moderator)

Watch the live recording here:

The 15-minute discussion focused on the biggest global water challenges we face today, and how and why the private sector can be part of the solution. Heather Cooley provided an overview of the global water crisis.  Lisa Hook highlighted the excellent work that Gap Inc. is doing to improve access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the communities where Gap Inc. has operations, with a specific focus on women. Jason Morrison stressed the need for businesses to engage in water-related collective actions that “can really help move the needle on water sustainability…because no one company is going to be able to do it alone; it’s going to take partnership.”
