Sun Ltd Commits to the CEO Water Mandate

The CEO Water Mandate Secretariat welcomes Sun Ltd as its latest endorsing company! Via its endorsement of the Mandate in April 2019, Sun Ltd joins a diverse, global community of over 150 companies that have made a commitment to advancing water stewardship.

Founded in 1983, Sun Ltd is a resort hotel company with luxury resorts in Mauritius and the Maldives. The company has eight owned and managed properties in the Indian Ocean, two golf courses, 1,473 rooms across its operations, and employs 4,028 associates. The company’s total revenue for 2018 was Rs 6,774,156,000.

Sun Ltd’s sustainability program, SUNCARE, focuses on pursuing a triple-bottom line approach to environmental, social, and economic responsibilities by finding innovative ways to do more with less. The company prioritizes reducing water consumption and has implemented the 3R approach (Recycle, Reduce, Reuse) to reduce water wastage and associated costs. The company believes that “corporate social responsibility must be a foundation of our long-term growth and profitability” and that caring for the people and the planet is not only a company responsibility but also a condition for long-term business success.
