PUBLIC CONSULTATION: Guidance for Setting Site-Level Water Targets Informed by Local Context

Arial view of waves

The aim of this guide is a to provide a practical approach for companies to set targets at the site-level that reflect the local context. This guide outlines a three-step process for setting water targets that address local water challenge(s) and contribute to meeting the desired end state of the basin. The three steps are 1) prioritize shared water challenges, 2) determine the desired end state and analyze the gap, and 3) set site-level water targets.

This draft guide is the result of a multi-stakeholder consultation process and has been informed by feedback from an expert advisory group, consultations during Stockholm World Water Week in 2017 and 2018, and on-going pilots.
