While all the principles are broadly relevant to responsible policy engagement, the relevance of particular principles depends on the nature and scope of specific engagement activities. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"thim-widget-heading\"><div class=\"sc_heading   \"><h3 class=\"title\"> <span class=\"thim-color\">Principle 1: Advance sustainable water management<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Responsible corporate engagement in water policy must be motivated by a genuine interest in furthering efficient, equitable, and ecologically sustainable water management. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"thim-widget-heading\"><div class=\"sc_heading   \"><h3 class=\"title\"> <span class=\"thim-color\">Principle 2: Respect public and private roles<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Responsible corporate engagement in water policy entails ensuring that activities do not infringe upon, but rather support, the government\u2019s mandate and responsibilities to develop and implement water policy. Acting consistently with this principle includes business commitment to work within a well-regulated (and enforced) environment.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"thim-widget-heading\"><div class=\"sc_heading   \"><h3 class=\"title\"> <span class=\"thim-color\">Principle 3: Strive for inclusiveness and partnerships<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Responsible engagement in water policy promotes inclusiveness and meaningful partnerships across a wide range of interests. <\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"thim-widget-heading\"><div class=\"sc_heading   \"><h3 class=\"title\"> <span class=\"thim-color\">Principle 4: Be pragmatic and consider integrated engagement<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Responsible engagement in water policy proceeds in a coherent manner that recognizes the interconnectedness among water and many other policy arenas.
